FTI UII Welcomes Visit from SMKN 1 Buay Madang, South Sumatra

On Thursday (03/10) Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) enthusiastically welcomed the visit of 135 students and 15 accompanying teachers from SMKN 1 Buay Madang, South Sumatra. The visit took place in the Auditorium room on the 3rd floor of K.H. Mas Mansur Building and started at 13.00 WIB. 

The event was opened with a disaster mitigation show, which aims to provide an understanding of the importance of preparedness in the face of disasters. This broadcast is expected to provide new insights for students regarding the steps that need to be taken when a disaster occurs. After the show, Akbar acted as MC and guided the event with enthusiasm.

The Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc., gave a warm welcome expressing his pride for the arrival of the guests from SMKN 1 Buay Madang. He explained the importance of collaboration between the world of higher education and secondary education in preparing quality future generations. Menisissusanto, S.Pd., M.M., M.Pd., as the Principal of SMKN 1 Buay Madang, also gave a brief speech, expressing his hope that this visit could broaden the students’ knowledge about higher education and provide inspiration to pursue further education.

After the speech, the event continued with the presentation of material by Adib and Rifki, who explained the various programs and activities at the Faculty of Industrial Technology. They provided detailed information about the curriculum, facilities, and self-development opportunities offered by FTI, so that students can understand more about the academic world in college. This presentation is expected to motivate students to continue their education to a higher level.

Furthermore, the event was colored by the handover of souvenirs between the two institutions as a symbol of cooperation and good relations. In addition, the committee also showed a video profile of FTI that displays various activities, achievements, and facilities in the faculty, providing a clear picture of academic life at FTI.

The event was closed with an interactive question and answer session, where students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the material that had been delivered and life in college. This session ran with great enthusiasm, showing the students’ interest in the information provided. In closing, an ice breaking session was held to create a more intimate and fun atmosphere before the official visit ended. Students and accompanying teachers looked very satisfied and excited after attending this event, with the hope of applying the knowledge gained in their next educational journey.

FTI UII Sambut Kunjungan SMKN 1 Buay Madang Sumatera Selatan

Pada Kamis (03/10) Fakultas Teknologi Industri (FTI) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) dengan antusias menyambut kunjungan 135 siswa/i beserta 15 guru pendamping dari SMKN 1 Buay Madang, Sumatera Selatan. Kunjungan ini berlangsung di ruang Auditorium lantai 3 Gedung K.H. Mas Mansur dan dimulai pada pukul 13.00 WIB. 

Acara dibuka dengan tayangan mitigasi bencana, yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana. Tayangan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan baru bagi siswa mengenai langkah-langkah yang perlu diambil saat terjadi bencana. Setelah tayangan, Akbar bertindak sebagai MC dan memandu acara dengan penuh semangat.

Ketua Jurusan Teknik Industri, Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc., memberikan sambutan hangat yang mengungkapkan kebanggaannya atas kedatangan para tamu dari SMKN 1 Buay Madang. Ia menjelaskan pentingnya kolaborasi antara dunia pendidikan tinggi dan pendidikan menengah dalam mempersiapkan generasi masa depan yang berkualitas. Menisissusanto, S.Pd., M.M., M.Pd., selaku Kepala Sekolah SMKN 1 Buay Madang, juga memberikan sambutan singkat, mengungkapkan harapannya agar kunjungan ini dapat memperluas pengetahuan siswa tentang pendidikan tinggi serta memberikan inspirasi untuk mengejar pendidikan lanjutan.

Setelah sambutan, acara dilanjutkan dengan penyampaian materi oleh Adib dan Rifki, yang menjelaskan berbagai program dan kegiatan yang ada di Fakultas Teknologi Industri. Mereka memberikan informasi mendetail tentang kurikulum, fasilitas, dan peluang pengembangan diri yang ditawarkan oleh FTI, sehingga siswa/i dapat memahami lebih dalam mengenai dunia akademik di perguruan tinggi. Presentasi ini diharapkan dapat memotivasi siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi.

Selanjutnya, acara diwarnai dengan serah terima cinderamata antara kedua institusi sebagai simbol kerja sama dan hubungan yang baik. Selain itu, panitia juga menayangkan video profil FTI yang menampilkan berbagai aktivitas, prestasi, dan fasilitas yang ada di fakultas, memberikan gambaran yang jelas tentang kehidupan akademik di FTI.

Acara ditutup dengan sesi tanya jawab yang interaktif, di mana siswa/i diberikan kesempatan untuk mengajukan pertanyaan seputar materi yang telah disampaikan serta kehidupan di perguruan tinggi. Sesi ini berjalan dengan antusiasme tinggi, menunjukkan ketertarikan siswa terhadap informasi yang diberikan. Sebagai penutup, sesi ice breaking diadakan untuk menciptakan suasana yang lebih akrab dan menyenangkan sebelum kunjungan resmi berakhir. Siswa/i dan guru pendamping terlihat sangat puas dan bersemangat setelah mengikuti acara ini, dengan harapan dapat mengaplikasikan pengetahuan yang diperoleh dalam perjalanan pendidikan mereka selanjutnya.

Department of Industrial Engineering Islamic University of Indonesia Holds 3 Minutes Challenge Final Round

On Friday (27/09) the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Islamic University of Indonesia held the final round of the 3 Minutes Thesis Challenge (3MT) competition. The event was attended by three lecturers as judges, namely Dr. Taufiq Immawan, S.T., M.M., Ir. Muhammad Ridwan Andi Purnomo, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM, and guest judge Prof. Ir. Dwi Agustina Kurniawati, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPM, ASEAN Eng from Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University (UNISUKA). The event took place in room 03.16 of the K.H. Mas Mansur Building, starting at 08.00 WIB with remarks from the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc.

Five finalists in the undergraduate category competed for the title. Najmuddin Muntashir Abdussalam from Gadjah Mada University won the first place with 1095/1500 points and the research title “Complaints of Skeletal Muscle Disorders: The Risk Behind Routine Maintenance Postures in Locomotive Workshops.” Second place went to Mohammad Ghiyats Athoillah from Universitas Jenderal Soedirman with 1020/1500 points, and third place went to Zahid Anugrah Muzaffar Rana from Universitas Islam Indonesia with 980/1500 points. Raditya Aufa Risman from the University of Surabaya was chosen as the Favorite Champion in the Undergraduate category with 27% of the audience votes.

In the Master’s category, Arissa Dwi Pangestu won first place with 1060/1500 points for the research “Analysis of Customer Service Quality towards E-Commerce Platforms in Indonesia Based on Topic Modeling.” The second place winner, Muhammad Iqbal Rofif, collected 1050/1500 points, while Tasya Santi Rahmawati, with 1025/1500 points, took third place and won the Favorite Champion in the Master category with 42% of the audience votes.

In the Doctoral category, Stefani Prima Dias from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) won first place, followed by Siti Afiani M. (UGM) as second place, and Ahmad Padhil from Universitas Islam Indonesia as third place.

The competition is part of the 3MT Challenge UII which is held annually with the aim of promoting research, innovation, and creativity among undergraduate to doctoral students. The three-minute format challenges participants to present their research clearly and concisely, and is expected to be a platform for sharing innovative ideas rooted in in-depth research.

Jurusan Teknik Industri Universitas Islam Indonesia Gelar Babak Final 3 Minutes Thesis Challenge

Pada Jumat (27/09) Jurusan Teknik Industri Fakultas Teknologi Industri Universitas Islam Indonesia menyelenggarakan babak final kompetisi 3 Minutes Thesis Challenge (3MT). Acara ini dihadiri oleh tiga dosen sebagai juri, yaitu Dr. Taufiq Immawan, S.T., M.M., Ir. Muhammad Ridwan Andi Purnomo, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM, serta juri tamu Prof. Ir. Dwi Agustina Kurniawati, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPM, ASEAN Eng dari Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (UNISUKA). Acara berlangsung di ruang 03.16 Gedung K.H. Mas Mansur, dimulai pukul 08.00 WIB dengan sambutan dari Ketua Jurusan Teknik Industri, Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc.

Lima finalis kategori Sarjana bersaing memperebutkan gelar juara. Najmuddin Muntashir Abdussalam dari Universitas Gadjah Mada berhasil meraih juara pertama dengan perolehan 1095/1500 poin dan judul penelitian “Keluhan Gangguan Otot Rangka: Risiko Dibalik Postur Pemeliharaan Rutin di Bengkel Lokomotif.” Juara kedua diraih oleh Mohammad Ghiyats Athoillah dari Universitas Jenderal Soedirman dengan 1020/1500 poin, dan juara ketiga adalah Zahid Anugrah Muzaffar Rana dari Universitas Islam Indonesia dengan 980/1500 poin. Raditya Aufa Risman dari Universitas Surabaya terpilih sebagai Juara Favorit kategori Sarjana dengan 27% suara audiens.

Format tiga menit ini menantang peserta untuk memaparkan penelitian mereka dengan jelas dan ringkas, serta diharapkan dapat menjadi wadah untuk berbagi gagasan inovatif yang berakar dari penelitian mendalam.

Industrial Engineering UII Received a Visit from Maranatha Christian University

On (09/09) Maranatha Christian University visited the Industrial Engineering Faculty of Industrial Technology, Islamic University of Indonesia. The visit was warmly welcomed by lecturers from the Industrial Engineering Study Program of FIT UII in Room 04.04 FIT UII. Three representatives from Maranatha Christian University who attended this visit, namely Melina Hermawan, S.T., M.T, Yulianti, S.T., M.T., and Vivi Arisandhy, S.T., M.T..

The meeting started at 13.30 WIB with a welcome speech from Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc. as the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department of UII. After that, he explained about the organizational structure in Industrial Engineering, FIT UII. “Later we will discuss, this one I will present from mostly just the skin. And maybe I’ll say this first, ma’am. So this is our structure, there are departments and study programs,” he explained.

Then it continued to the explanation of the Fast Track program by the Head of the UII Industrial Engineering Master Program, Winda Nur Cahyo, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. Finally, the explanation of the MBKM program by the Secretary of the UII Industrial Engineering Bachelor Program, Annisa Uswatun Khasanah, S.T., M.Sc. and the Academic Director of the UII Industrial Engineering Doctoral Program, Dr. Harwati, S.T., M.T., who also accompanied the meeting. At the end of the presentation of the material, there was a question and answer session and discussion between the attendees.

Furthermore, the handover of souvenirs that ended the discussion session this time as a memento between Industrial Engineering FIT UII and Maranatha Christian University. After that, the group along with Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc., Ir. Muhammad Ridwan Andi Purnomo, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., toured the laboratories and facilities owned by Industrial Engineering UII. Some visiting guests also tried to simulate the tools available in each laboratory.

Teknik Industri UII Menerima Kunjungan Dari Universitas Kristen Maranatha

Pada (09/09) Universitas Kristen Maranatha mengunjungi Teknik Industri Fakultas Teknologi Industri Universitas Islam Islam Indonesia. Kunjungan tersebut disambut hangat oleh para dosen dari Prodi Teknik Industri FTI UII di Ruang 04.04 FTI UII. Tiga perwakilan dari Universitas Kristen Maranatha yang hadir dalam kunjungan ini, yaitu Melina Hermawan, S.T., M.T, Yulianti, S.T., M.T., dan Vivi Arisandhy, S.T., M.T.

Pertemuan ini dimulai pukul 13.30 WIB dengan sambutan selamat datang dari Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc. selaku Kepala Jurusan Teknik Industri UII. Setelah itu, beliau menjelaskan mengenai struktur organisasi di Teknik Industri, FTI UII. “Nanti kita akan diskusi, yang ini saya akan presentasikan dari sebagian besar hanya kulitnya. Dan mungkin saya sampaikan dulu ini, bu. Jadi ini struktur kami, ada Jurusan dan ada Program studi,” jelasnya.

Kemudian berlanjut ke penjelasan program Fast Track oleh Kaprodi Program Magister Teknik Industri UII, Winda Nur Cahyo, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. Terakhir, penjelasan program MBKM oleh Sekprodi Program Sarjana Teknik Industri UII, Annisa Uswatun Khasanah, S.T., M.Sc. dan Direktur Akademik Program Doktor Rekayasa Industri UII, Dr. Harwati, S.T., M.T., yang turut menemani dalam pertemuan ini. Pada akhir penyampaian materi, terdapat sesi tanya jawab dan diskusi antara para hadirin.

Selanjutnya, serah terima cinderamata yang mengakhiri sesi diskusi kali ini sebagai kenang-kenangan antara Teknik Industri FTI UII dan Universitas Kristen Maranatha. Setelah itu, rombongan bersama dengan Dr. Drs. Imam Djati Widodo, M.Eng.Sc., Ir. Muhammad Ridwan Andi Purnomo, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., berkeliling menunjukkan laboratorium-laboratorium dan fasilitas yang dimiliki Teknik Industri UII. Beberapa tamu kunjungan juga mencoba menyimulasikan alat-alat yang tersedia pada setiap laboratorium.

Sharing Session: Tips & Tricks to Achieve Scholarships and Study Abroad

Industrial Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Industrial Technology (FIT) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) held an online “sharing session” on Thursday (05/09) with the title “Tips & Tricks to Get Scholarships and Study Abroad.” This event presented one of the lecturers of the Industrial Engineering Study Program at FTI UII, Mrs. Suci Miranda, S.T., M.Sc., as a resource person who will leave for doctoral studies abroad.

A total of 20 participants attended to listen to the sharing session which was held at 13.15 WIB. Putri Dwi Annisa, S.T., M.Sc., was present as the moderator for this sharing session. This webinar began with a resource person who shared her personal data and experience when she decided to continue her studies abroad through the LPDP scholarship route.

LPDP, or Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan, is a non-echelon work unit under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia that manages education funds in accordance with the mandate of the Minister of Finance Regulation Number 252 of 2010. In addition, Mrs. Suci Miranda also explained how to apply for this program. She emphasized always practicing and trying to get TOEFL and IELTS scores according to the required standards.

Ms. Suci Miranda, S.T., M.Sc., emphasized preparing the necessary document requirements at least a year before applying for the LPDP program. Within a year of preparation, prospective applicants can compile portfolios and achievements to be included in the CV (Curriculum Vitae) as complementary documents.

Furthermore, she shared her experience when she joined the LPDP and PPAN programs that supported her master’s studies. This experience became a valuable moment for her to try out various opportunities available, as well as expand her network with students from various countries. “The opportunities that have been given, such as becoming an Awardee or whatever, should be celebrated. Celebrate by making sure that every step, every choice we make will have positive consequences for us,” she said. She meant that every achievement should be commemorated and appreciated.

A question-and-answer session ended this sharing of tips and tricks for winning scholarships abroad. Searching for information from various sources such as websites and social media is key to preparing oneself optimally.

Sharing Session: Tips & Trik Raih Beasiswa dan Kuliah di Luar Negeri

Program Studi Teknik Industri, Fakultas Teknologi Industri (FTI) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) mengadakan “sharing session” secara daring pada Kamis (05/09) dengan tajuk “Tips & Trik Raih Beasiswa dan Kuliah di Luar Negeri”. Acara ini menghadirkan salah satu dosen Prodi Teknik Industri FTI UII, Ibu Suci Miranda, S.T., M.Sc. sebagai narasumber yang akan berangkat  studi S3 di luar negeri.

Sebanyak 20 peserta hadir untuk mendengarkan sesi berbagi yang diadakan pukul 13.15 WIB. Ibu Putri Dwi Annisa, S.T., M.Sc.,  hadir menjadi moderator pada sharing session ini. Webinar ini diawali dengan narasumber yang menceritakan data diri dan pengalamannya ketika memutuskan untuk melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri melalui jalur beasiswa LPDP. 

LPDP atau Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan adalah satuan kerja non eselon di bawah Kementerian Keuangan Republik Indonesia yang mengelola dana pendidikan sesuai amanat Peraturan Menteri Keuangan Nomor 252 Tahun 2010. Selain itu, ibu Suci Miranda juga menjelaskan bagaimana tahapan mendaftar pada program ini. Beliau menekankan untuk selalu berlatih dan mencoba untuk mendapatkan skor TOEFL dan IELTS sesuai persyaratan yang diminta.

Ibu Suci Miranda, S.T., M.Sc., menegaskan untuk mempersiapkan persyaratan dokumen yang diperlukan setidaknya setahun sebelum mendaftar program LPDP. Dalam setahun persiapan, calon pendaftar dapat menyusun portofolio maupun pencapaian untuk dimasukkan ke dalam CV (Curriculum Vitae) sebagai pelengkap dokumen.

Lebih lanjut, beliau berbagi pengalamannya saat mengikuti program LPDP dan PPAN yang mendukung studi S2-nya. Pengalaman ini menjadi momen berharga beliau untuk mencoba berbagai peluang yang tersedia, sekaligus memperluas jaringan dengan pelajar dari berbagai negara. “Kesempatan yang telah diberikan, seperti menjadi Awardee atau apapun, patut dirayakan. Dirayakan dengan cara memastikan tiap langkah, tiap pilihan yang kita ambil akan membuat konsekuensi positif buat kita,” ungkapannya.  Ia bermaksud setiap pencapaian harus diperingati dan dihargai. 

Sesi tanya jawab mengakhiri sesi berbagi tips dan trik meraih beasiswa di luar negeri kali ini. Banyak mencari informasi dari berbagai sumber seperti website hingga sosial media menjadi kunci dalam mempersiapkan diri secara maksimal.

Sharing Session: Tips and Tricks for S3 Study at Doctor of Industrial Engineering FIT UII

On Saturday (24/08), the Doctor of Industrial Engineering (DRI) Study Program at the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FIT) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) successfully held its first sharing session. Featured the Head of the DRI UII Student Association, Dr. (cand). Ahmad Padhil, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., as speaker, the sharing session talked about Tips and Tricks for S3 Study at Doctor of Industrial Engineering, FTI UII. This activity took place online through a zoom meeting with 28 participants participating in it.

The event began at 09:00 WIB, with the MC greeting the participants enthusiastically. Following a quick introduction by the MC, the event moved on to the main agenda, which was the material delivery session. In his presentation, Ahmad Padhil discussed  several aspects related to the scheme and life of S3 lectures at DRI FTI UII, ranging from the curriculum, the number of credits, and the activities.

“In terms of aims and systems at UII, the Industrial Engineering Doctoral program’s courses are divided into progress activities that we will accomplish. This period lasts from the beginning to the end,  which is the sixth semester”, he stated, starting off a conversation regarding the flow of lectures and numerous activities throughout the semester.

Furthermore, he went through the S3 lecture method at DRI FTI UII, which offers numerous benefits to students. One example is the attendance system, which is integrated with UII Connect and allows students to fulfill academic commitments without needing to be physically present on campus. This allows for more flexibility and support for students who have structural responsibilities and other duties during the lecture session. Additionally, doctoral students have access to campus residential. DRI FTI UII also actively hosts and participates in a variety of activities, including competitions, international webinars, and collaboration with external organizations.

“Alhamdulillah we have a considerable number of activities at DRI.  Even though we work online, when we do get to Jogja, those activities can be carried out productively and to the fullest,” he said.

As the Q&A session began, Ahmad Padhil, a member of the first cohort of  DRI FTI UII students shared study tips by answering questions from the attending academic peers. The sharing session event ended with a group photo session.

Sharing Session: Tips & Trik kuliah S3 di Doktor Rekayasa Industri FTI UII

Program Studi Rekayasa Industri Program Doktor Fakultas Teknologi Industri Universitas Islam Indonesia ( DRI UII) sukses mengadakan sharing session perdana pada Sabtu (24/08). Menghadirkan Ketua Himpunan Mahasiswa DRI UII, Dr (cand). Ir. Ahmad Padhil, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., sebagai narasumber, kegiatan sharing session ini membahas seputar Tips & Trik Kuliah S3 di Program Doktor Rekayasa Industri FTI UII. Kegiatan ini berlangsung secara daring melalui zoom meeting dengan 28 partisipan di dalamnya.

Sharing session dimulai pada pukul 09:00 WIB oleh MC yang menyapa peserta dengan hangat. Kemudian kegiatan memasuki agenda utama yaitu penyampaian materi. Dalam presentasinya, beliau mengulas berbagai aspek terkait skema dan kehidupan perkuliahan S3 di DRI FTI UII, mulai dari kurikulum, jumlah SKS, hingga aktivitas yang ada.

“Secara target dan sistem di UII, pada program Doktor Rekayasa Industri, mata kuliah dipecah menjadi kegiatan-kegiatan progres yang akan kita lakukan. Tahapan ini berlangsung dari awal hingga menuju selesai yaitu semester 6,“ ungkap beliau membuka pembahasan mengenai alur perkuliahan.

Lebih lanjut beliau mengulik sistem perkuliahan S3 di DRI FTI UII yang memberikan banyak manfaat bagi mahasiswanya. Salah satu contohnya adalah sistem kehadiran yang terintegrasi dengan UII Connect sehingga mahasiswa dapat memenuhi kewajiban akademis tanpa perlu selalu hadir secara fisik di kampus. Hal ini memberikan keleluasaan dan dukungan bagi mahasiswa yang memiliki keterikatan struktural maupun tanggung jawab lain selama masa perkuliahan. Sebagai tambahan, terdapat fasilitas residensial kampus yang dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa S3. DRI FTI UII juga aktif menyelenggarakan dan berpartisipasi dalam berbagai kegiatan seperti lomba, webinar internasional, serta kegiatan kolaboratif lainnya bersama pihak eksternal.

“Nah, selain itu, kalau di DRI alhamdulillah kegiatannya lumayan banyak Bapak-Ibu. Padahal kita ini kerjanya secara daring, tapi sekali ke Jogja, kegiatan itu bisa secara produktif dilakukan dengan maksimal,” ujar beliau.

Memasuki sesi tanya jawab, Ahmad Padhil yang merupakan mahasiswa DRI FTI UII angkatan pertama ini membagikan tips perkuliahan dengan menjawab pertanyaan dari rekan-rekan akademisi yang hadir. Kegiatan siang itu ditutup dengan sesi dokumentasi bersama.
